SBA Announces Local 2012 Small Business Week Winner
SAN FRANCISCO – The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) in San Francisco has announced that Fleenor Paper Company, under the leadership of Rebecca Fleenor, CEO, and John Rochex, VP, is the 2012 Northern California Small Business of the Year.
Fleenor Paper Company (Fleenor Paper) is a leading manufacturer of environmentally friendly packaging created at five manufacturing plants coast to coast and network distribution centers covering the United States, Canada and Mexico. Fleenor Paper Company provides products and distribution services to industries such as: Moving and Storage, E-commerce, Agriculture, Landscaping, Automotive, Clothing, Construction, Health Care, Furniture and Food Service.
Fleenor is celebrating 50 years in business as a family-owned and operated firm with three generations of the Fleenor family founding and managing the firm. The firm has shown tremendous growth in the last decade from $10 Million in 2003 to $60 million projected in 2012. During that time, the firm has more than tripled employment to its current 300 staffing nationally.
“Fleenor represents the unique qualities of creativity, social responsibility, and persistence we look for as a model for entrepreneurs.” said Mark Quinn, SBA District Director. “It was started by LeRoy Fleenor in 1962 taking excess, unusable paper from printers and recycling it into packing materials. Fleenor built a successful business doing recycling before ‘recyling’ was part of the vocabulary”.
In the Bay Area, Fleenor Paper Company operates a 130,000 sq. ft. plant in Stockton and office in Oakland, California.
SBA San Francisco will honor Rebecca Fleenor and John Rochex of Fleenor Paper Company, at one of several planned Small Business Week events to be held during the week of May 14 – 20, 2012.
