At TMC Small Business Week is our favorite time of year!
Our mission is to be an advocate and help small business owners obtain financing to help their business stay local and thrive. We love our clients and love celebrating them and their successes. This is what Small Business Week is all about and we are excited to participate in both the Oakland and San Francisco celebrations!
In Oakland, Small Business Week is being celebrated from May 1-6th. It’s a weeklong celebration packed with workshops and events promoting the success of small business owners. The City of Oakland is proud to hold receptions, events and workshops that recognize the vital importance of small businesses to the local economy and in creating employment opportunities. Please join as we celebrate and nurture Oakland’s vibrant small businesses. More than 90% of our local business activity is generated from small businesses that employ less than 50 employees.

In San Francisco, Small Business Week is being celebrated from May 15-20th with a whole week full of events. SF Small Biz Week is a partnership that was formed to honor and support the 85,000 + small businesses and entrepreneurs that call San Francisco home. Participate in any one of these events or programs to learn about best practices, innovative technology, financing, the success of specific small businesses and the variety of small businesses in the SF Bay Area!

Two of our clients are being honored during this occasion with the Small Business Person of the Year Award. The award applicants are judged based on the history of the company, their business plans, analysis of growth, and how they have overcome adversity. TMC nominated these two businesses for their respective awards and is excited to share this wonderful news. Small Business Week is a very important time during the year for TMC. We work with small business owners to help them succeed and it is rewarding to see them do so.
We are pleased to announce that in the San Francisco Small Business Association District, Jeff and Helena Sears, owners of Blazing Saddles have won the Small Business Person of the Year 
Award. The award committee visited Blazing Saddles and said that “they are an exceptional business and represent what we look for in an awardee.” They will be honored and celebrated at the Small Business Week Award ceremony on Thursday May 10th at AT&T Park.

Additionally, we are pleased to honor Dr. Eva Littman, owner of Red Rock Fertility in Las Vegas, Nevada, winner of the Small Business Person of the Year award in the state of Nevada. Dr. 
Littman has completely revolutionized the fertility industry in Nevada, before she opened the doors of Red Rock, the local community had to travel to California and beyond to seek appropriate care. In the first week of May, Dr. Littman will join winners from all 50 US states and territories in Washington, D.C. for the announcement of the SBA’s National Small Business Person of the Year.
